John R. MacDonald, master timber framer, and his wife Kim Knight operate Algonquin Timber Frames in Point Alexander, near Deep River, Ontario.


Involved in heavy timber building since 1975, John helped with the timber framing of the first Canadian Canoe Museum, sent 20 frames to Indonesiafor tsunami housing relief and has built many inspiring timber structures since.

John is directly involved in designing and building all of his structures. His commitment to the personal touch ensures that clients get the best structure for their needs, at a reasonable cost.
